Women Can: Empowering Women in Politics

At the invitation of Christiania, the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation participated in the "Women Can" course held in Oslo on Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6. The course, aimed at empowering women in politics, featured participants such as Darya Qadir Khoshnaw, Kowestan Omarzadeh, and Rangin Mama.

The two-day program covered various topics, including migration, equality, democracy, elections, communication, governance techniques, state welfare, rights and duties, and work-life balance.

The "Women Can" initiative has been active since the 1980s, continuing its mission to increase women's participation in politics. Since the early 2000s, Norwegian People's Aid has also supported these courses across 30 countries, starting in the Balkans and expanding to Africa, Asia, and other parts of Europe.

Today, most of these courses are organized in Norway, focusing on women with immigrant backgrounds.
