A delegation from the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation, consisting of Mrs. Shirin Zaki (President of the Federation), Mrs. Sharmin Bozarslan (Member of the Federation's Executive Committee), and Mrs. Media Jagarkhun (Member of the Federation Association in Stockholm), held a productive meeting with Nina Onesi, Secretary for Women's Affairs, and Stephanie Togersen from the Communications Department.
The meeting addressed several critical issues, including the controversial proposal to legalize the marriage of nine-year-old girls, currently under discussion in the Iraqi parliament. The delegation also emphasized the urgent need for humanitarian assistance for women affected by the war. Additionally, the discussion highlighted Sweden's decision to discontinue humanitarian aid to Iraq and its adverse impact on refugee women living in the Kurdistan Region.
Both parties expressed satisfaction with the meeting and agreed to strengthen coordination and collaboration between the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation and the Social Democratic Women of Sweden.
