Pakhshan Azizi, Kurdish Political Activist, Sentenced to Death
The KDWF, an independent Kurdish women's organization, strongly condemns the sentencing of Pakhshan Azizi, a Kurdish political prisoner, to death.
We, the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation, are deeply saddened and concerned about this unjust decision.
Pakhshan Azizi, who has been detained in Evin Prison in the Kharazi town of Tehran for a year, was recently transferred from Ward 209 of Evin Prison, known as the Intelligence Department Prison, to the Women’s Ward. It is reported that her execution may soon be carried out.
The Federation of Kurdistan Diaspora Women condemns the crimes of the Islamic Republic of Iran and calls on human rights organizations and the international community to take a clear and effective stance against Iran's inhumane acts. We demand the abolition of all forms of death penalties, executions, and torture.
We also urge the Islamic Republic of Iran to heed the calls of human rights organizations, civil society groups, and the relatives of Pakhshan Azizi to immediately halt this unjust decision.
