Message from the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation on the Anniversary of the Chemical Attack on Halabja

Today, March 16, 2025, marks the 37th anniversary of the tragic chemical attack on Halabja.

The world recognizes that the history of the Kurdish people is filled with immense sacrifices. Halabja stands as one of the greatest tragedies in human history, alongside Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Throughout history, Halabja has been a symbol of the Kurdish revolution, making tremendous sacrifices for the freedom of Kurdistan.

The suffering of Halabja’s martyrs sent a powerful message to the world, shedding light on the struggles of the Kurdish people. Such a heinous crime must never be forgotten, and the international community, along with human rights organizations, must continue to demand justice. It is imperative that responsible parties, including the Iraqi government, provide proper compensation to the victims of this atrocity.

As the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation, we honor the memory of the martyrs and solemnly commemorate this anniversary with deep sorrow.

Eternal glory to the martyrs of Halabja and all those who have sacrificed for the freedom of Kurdistan.
