Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation Engages in Cultural Dialogue with Sami Nation in Oslo

In Oslo on April 17, 2024, at noon, a delegation from the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation in Norway, comprising Darya Qadir Khoshnaw, Shawnam Nadri, and Kowestan Omarzadeh, along with representatives from the Kurdistan Diaspora Center - Dr. Nuruddin Khoshnaw, Massoud Nasri, and Elgen Rudy, paid a visit to the Sami Parliament Representation.

They were graciously received by Mikkel Berg Nordli, a member of the Executive Board, and Christine Ballari, Head of the Language Center at the Sami Parliament in Oslo. The meeting facilitated an in-depth exchange on the cultures and histories of the Sami and Kurdish nations.

Discussions encompassed various topics, including fostering relations and friendship between the Kurdish and Sami communities in Norway, introducing the Kurdistan region and its people, outlining the mission of the Kurdish Diaspora Women's Federation and the Kurdish Diaspora Center in Oslo, identifying shared cultural, historical, and artistic points of interest, exploring avenues for collaboration between the two communities, and outlining plans for future joint initiatives and engagements. Moreover, avenues for cooperation between the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora Women and the Federation of Sami Women in Norway were explored.
