Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation/Norway Joins Women's Day Celebration in Askim, Advocating for Empowerment and Equality

A platform for women's empowerment and the promotion of equality.

At the invitation of Indre Østfold Kvinnegruppen, the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation/Norway, represented by Dariakhoshnaw and Kowestan Omarzadeh, participated in the Women's Day celebration in Askim on March 8, under the title 'Kvinnekraft' (Women's Power).

The event comprised a series of diverse activities focusing on important topics, providing information, and featuring contemporary speeches.

Main topics covered:

- Safety in volunteer work and the health of women, emphasizing women and children as guardians.

- Health and mental health awareness.

- Information about medicines and their proper usage.

- Public sector involvement - highlighting the power of participation.

- Addressing "Violence in Intimate Relationships" through the screening of the film "Night," premiered in 2023, written and directed by Mona Johann Hoel.

Following the screening, a discussion took place involving representatives from the police, child welfare services, crisis centers, and the municipality.

It's noteworthy that these activities were organized by several organizations, including Askim Prestegård, the Soroptimist Indre Østfold Club, and the Indre Østfold Women's Group, with the assistance of many talented, expert, and experienced individuals.

The event commenced at 11:45 and concluded at 20:00.
