Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation, Norway Committee Participates in the Nobel Peace Conference

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation, Norway Committee, represented by Darya Qadir Khoshnaw, Kowestan Omarzadeh, Shawnam Ali, and Rangin Mahima, participated online in the annual Nobel Peace Conference on Women's Rights.

The conference's theme was "Democracy and Human Rights Are Impossible Without Women's Rights." The 2024 Nobel Peace Conference centered on the restoration of women's rights and its impact on global peace, exploring solutions to empower women and strengthen equality worldwide. The event also honored individuals who tirelessly work toward these goals with optimism and dedication.

Held at the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo, the conference featured both in-person and digital participation, including several former Nobel laureates. Among them was Dr. Fatou Bensouda, a lawyer, former Prosecutor General of the International Criminal Court (The Hague), and the current High Commissioner of the Gambia in the United Kingdom.

The second part of the event featured the "Women, Life, and Freedom" festival. The conference was broadcast globally, reaching nearly 100,000 viewers worldwide.
