
Kurdish Diaspora Women in Norway Forge Alliance with Norwegian Social Left Party
On the 15th of March 2024, at 14:45 in Westby, the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora Women in Norway convened with a delegation from the Norwegian Social Left Party.
During the initial meeting, Darya Khoshnaw, the head of the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora Women in Norway, met with a delegation from the Norwegian Social Left Party, which included:
- Ms. Eva Britt, Head of the Women's Political Department of the Akershus District,
- Ms. Hilde Astom, Member of the City Council of Rælingen,
- Mr. Stig Overos, Group Leader at the Municipality of Vestby,
- and Mr. Massoud Nasri, Head of Inclusion at Akershus, also Group Work Leader at Rælingen Municipality.
At the onset of the meeting, Ms. Darya Khoshnaw provided an overview of the Kurdish nation, its geographical significance, economic resources, and strategic importance. She also initiated a discussion on Kurdish women, highlighting the challenges they face and their capabilities.
Furthermore, she introduced the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation in general, with a focus on the Norwegian Federation, and elucidated its roles and responsibilities.
Throughout the meeting, both parties expressed their readiness to engage in collaborative activities toward shared objectives and agreed to cooperate in future endeavors through amicable deliberations.
The meeting concluded at 16:00.
