Joint Delegation of Kurdish Diaspora Federations Visits Kurdistan Parliamentarians Union to Discuss Women’s Development and Election Oversight
A joint delegation from the Kurdistan Diaspora Women’s Federation and the Kurdish Diaspora in the Netherlands visited the Kurdistan Parliamentarians Union.
The delegation included Shirin Zaki, President of the Kurdistan Diaspora Women’s Federation; Ala Anbarkhan, President of the Kurdish Diaspora Federation in the Netherlands; Zhian Qadir Surchi, President of the Kurdish Diaspora Federation; and Evar Barzanji, representative of the Kurdish Diaspora Federation in Kurdistan. They met with the Union of Parliamentarians and the Free Women's Board, a group affiliated with the Union. The meeting was attended by Mr. Jamal Qasim, President of the Union of Parliamentarians, alongside members of the Free Women’s Board, including Nahla Mohammed, Samira Ismail, Suad Abdul Reza, Gulnaz Aziz, Shukriya Rasul, Nishtiman Kamal, Nasrin Jamal, Bekhal Fawzi, and Bahar Ali. The delegation received a warm welcome.
The meeting highlighted the Federation’s activities, with attendees recognizing its impactful role. Special appreciation was extended to the Kurdistan Diaspora Women’s Federation for overseeing the voting process in Erbil, Sulaimani, Duhok, and Halabja provinces through 450 international observers, effectively contributing to the monitoring of the Kurdistan Parliamentary Elections.
Discussions also focused on women’s development, enhanced coordination, and prospects for joint initiatives.
