Congratulatory Message from the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation

On the occasion of the Yazidi holidays, we extend our warmest congratulations to the Emir of the Yazidis, the Spiritual Council, and all our Yazidi brothers and sisters in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and around the world.

This occasion marks the holiday of the “Fasting of the Poor” (Faqiran's Fast), which is observed by the Yazidis following three days of fasting. According to the Sinjar calendar, the fasting began on Tuesday and continued through Wednesday and Thursday, culminating in celebrations on Friday.

As part of the tradition, many in the community begin the holiday by visiting the graves of their loved ones before gathering with family and friends.

We take this moment to honor the resilience of our Yazidi brothers and sisters. Despite facing unimaginable hardships and oppression from the enemies of humanity and those opposed to the Kurdish people, they have stood steadfast, courageously defending their identity and heritage.

On this joyous occasion, we hope the Yazidis celebrate in peace and happiness. Furthermore, we wish for the swift return of our Yazidi Kurdish brothers and sisters to their ancestral lands, where they can rebuild their homes and live in harmony and prosperity.
