Celebration of March 8 International Women's Day in Bochum: Showcasing Kurdish Culture and Promoting Cultural Exchange

On March 8, 2025, the International Women's Day celebration took place in Bochum, Germany. The Federation of Kurdish Diaspora Women in Germany, led by Ms. Khunav Hajo, organized a grand event in collaboration with German associations and organizations in the city.

As in previous years, German associations and organizations in Bochum celebrated the occasion in a unique way, with each group setting up its own tent to showcase their culture and encourage social integration.

In this context, the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora Women in Germany set up its own tent, proudly representing Kurdish culture and highlighting the role and identity of Kurdish women. The tent was decorated with the Kurdistan flag, symbolizing Kurdish national identity.

The festival served as an excellent platform for cultural exchange between the German and Kurdish communities. Visitors from German tents stopped by the Kurdish tent to learn more about Kurdish traditions, values, and the unique role of Kurdish women in society.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Khunav Hajo, President of the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora Women in Germany, stated:

“This annual celebration on March 8, International Women’s Day, is a time to honor all women. This year, we celebrate under the theme: Rights, Equality, and Inclusion.”

The event was marked by an enthusiastic atmosphere, fostering mutual understanding and strengthening cooperation between different cultures.
