78th Anniversary Celebration of the Kurdistan Republic's Proclamation

January 2 marks a historic turning point in the sovereignty of our people. Seventy-eight years ago in Mahabad, East Kurdistan, Qazi Mohammad joined the Kurdistan Democratic Party and became its leader. His charismatic leadership, especially in the regions of East Kurdistan, played a crucial role in the dialogue and negotiations that led to the formation of the Kurdish identity. He resolved to ensure that the Kurdish authorities could effectively convey a political translation.

The Kurdistan Republic was proclaimed on Monday, the 2nd of January 1946 by Peshawar Qazi Mohammad. On this glorious occasion, the Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation (KDWF) celebrates the 78th anniversary of the proclamation of the Kurdistan Republic.
