Important Event Held Regarding the Genocide of the Kurdish People


On Saturday, August 29, 2026, the KG Lobby Center, in coordination with the Kurdistan Diaspora Women’s Federation and the Kurdistan Women's Union, organized a significant event dedicated to the genocide of the Kurdish people.
The event commenced with an introduction by Ms. Awrang Shaways, Head of the KG Lobby Center, who served as the program's coordinator. The opening featured a documentary film directed by Jano Rojbeyani, followed by a presentation by journalist Arnold Karskens, who has previously worked on the Halabja chemical attack case.
The seminar included several notable speeches and participants:

Dr. Mohammed Ihsan, an international expert on genocide, delivered a speech.
Dr. Shukri Barwari, Deputy Head of the Kurdistan Diaspora Confederation, presented a speech.
Ms. Shuhla Habib, Head of the Kurdistan Women's Union's European Center, delivered a speech.

Dr. Nasik Saeed, Head of Media for the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora Women (participating via Zoom), highlighted the factor of the genocide of Kurdish women as a gender-based genocide and its negative impacts on Kurdish society, particularly women.

Ms. Shabow Farkade, a national activist, also delivered a speech.
The event was successfully moderated by two presenters, Ms. Shilan and Ms. Yalda.

Notably, as part of the activities, visual artist Ashti Germiani exhibited a collection of his paintings dedicated to the case of the Kurdish genocide. Additionally, the European Center of the Kurdistan Women's Union displayed a selection of books focused on learning the Kurdish language.
